Sharp Scholarship

Ithaca Fire Department Assistant Chief (retired) Ed Sharp started his career with the Ithaca Fire Department on August 18, 1958. Ed was promoted to Lieutenant on August 20, 1970 and Assistant Chief on June 1, 1973. Ed was revered by all the men and women that worked for him and he served as a great role model to several generations of Ithaca Firefighters.

The fund was established by the Ithaca Paid Fire Fighters Association as a tribute to Assistant Chief Sharp and to assist the children of our members who are attempting to improve themselves and their community through academic achievement at the College level. The scholarship is offered based upon merit to individuals pursuing higher education at an accredited institution of higher learning.

The Ithaca Paid Fire Fighters Association values its members and this fund is designed to assist their children in pursuing a higher level of education.
