IPFFA Kid’s Day

IPFFA Kids Day was started in the summer of 1993 by Firefighter John “Doc” Cook.  Doc saw how much joy his own children as well as other IPFFA members children got from visiting the fire station and watching their parents work.  Kids Day is 100% funded by the union as a way to give back to the Ithaca community.  Kids Day includes Fire Truck rides, fire safety talks, Fire extinguisher demo, Rope rescue station and much more.  Over the years we have expanded Kids Day to include and obstacle course and rope swing.  Attendance grows every year with over 200 kids attending last year.  Kids Day has been held every year at Stewart Park  on the third Saturday in August since 1993.
